Description
Original Romanian M39 steel helmet, an authentic WWII-period example.
The helmet was found in the Stalingrad area, in the village of Kletskaya (Клетская), in a trench at former Romanian positions.
Romanian troops at Stalingrad
The Romanian Army adopted a helmet of Dutch design in the late 1930s, catalogued by collectors as the M39. Romanian formations held long stretches of the flanks during the Stalingrad campaign, which is where shells of this pattern are usually recovered.
