The helmet was found inside a bunker in Ostrogozhsk, Voronezh Oblast, Russia.
This helmet was recovered from a bunker in Ostrogozhsk, Voronezh Oblast, an area held by Hungarian troops until the Soviet offensive of January 1943. Helmets with a recorded find site carry more research value than unprovenanced examples.
