Description
Original German WW2 helmet M40 with battle damage.
About the M40 Stahlhelm
The M40 appeared in 1940 as a simplified version of the M35: the separate ventilation lugs were replaced by holes stamped straight into the shell, and a cheaper steel alloy was adopted. Battle-damaged shells like this one are collected as physical evidence of combat rather than as display-grade helmets.
