The Soviet SSh-36
Adopted in 1936, the SSh-36 was the Red Army first mass-produced modern steel helmet and is instantly recognisable by its flared brim and raised comb. It was largely replaced by the SSh-39 and SSh-40 during the early war years, which is why surviving examples are relatively scarce.
